More about Kirsty Piercy

I love business and all things business related, including admin and finance, which most people find boring or stressful. I am genuinely passionate about helping people and business owners and I pride myself on being easy to work with, professional and someone that you can count on.

I have been assisting business owners throughout most of my career and when I started Kirsty Piercy Virtual Assistant, or KPVA, I could put my employment experience to good use. I can now say that I know what it is like to have a new start-up business. I have not only advised on what to do, but I have now walked in those shoes, so to speak.

I have been able to support businesses in Devon, mainly around the area that I live, Newton Abbot, Torquay and Exeter, with various outsourced business support services. The business owners that I have worked with have outsourced for various different reasons, they wanted to free up their own time, they didn’t want to commit to hiring an employed member of staff, they needed support for a one-off project only or to get through a busy period.

Previous Experience

I started my career in Accountancy and I spent nearly a decade working for local Accountancy practices. This is when my love of helping businesses started, I was fortunate enough to be the person who went out to visit clients, assist with their bookkeeping, processes, accountancy software and management accounts. In addition to this, I prepared year end accounts, tax returns, VAT returns and other financial reporting for local businesses. 

I was offered a role to work within a local growing business as an in-house finance manager which is when I made a move away from Accountancy. As I took on more responsibility my role developed to Head of Global Finance and Operations and I was soon in charge of the day to day running of the business. Working for a growing international business was an amazing opportunity and I gained a huge amount of experience and knowledge. 

This role was also within the entertainment industry so I had to quickly adapt to work in a high pressured environment with changing deadlines and high expectations. I was able to see first hand how difficult it is to run a business, the contracts, finance, HR, legal matters, office management and a hundred other things on top. I loved it, but it was time for me to start something of my own, which is when KPVA was created.
